Theresa Mello

Theresa Adele Heffington Mello, 71, of Winston Salem, passed away Friday, June 5, 2026, at her home.

Born June 16, 1954, in Chowchilla, CA, she was a daughter of Phyllis Heffington Koyman, and the late Troy Wayne Heffington.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Kooyman.

Those left to cherish her memory; her daughter, Kayla Johnson and husband Tom; son, Jacob Mello and wife Geneva; grandchildren, Mikey Mello, Emma Moon, Logan Johnson, Benjamin Johnson, and Caroline Johnson; mother, Phyllis Heffington Kooyman; her brother, Robert Kooyman; sisters, Susan Harris, Lori Charlish, Karen DeFelice, Kathleen Wagoner, and Lisa Wilson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
