Listen to Obituary

Teresa Anne Thesing, 69 of Clemmons, NC, passed away Wednesday July 1, 2026 at the Hospice Home of High Point in NC. While Teresa had struggled for several years with declining health, she finally met her Lord, full of peace and tranquility. Born August 12, 1956 in Lancaster, OH, she was the first child and daughter of the late Robert George Thesing and the late Frances Emily Bell of High Point, NC. Teresa’s life journey took her many places. She lived in 6 states, with two stops each in OH, GA and NC. She eventually settled in High Point, NC where she spent the last half of her life.

As a young child, Teresa’s pursuit of music began; turning piano and organ performance into her lifetime passion. She started piano lessons in elementary school. She loved playing alongside her beloved Grandma Thesing, but perhaps most of all, playing and practicing her precious music for hours on end. Through her life, Teresa enjoyed sharing her musical talents in many settings - serving her various church choirs and congregations, school Chorale and Glee Clubs, as well as playing for innumerable weddings, funerals, social events and gatherings. She loved entertaining people with her music and was known to fulfill requests spanning all genres - from Classical and Pop, to Rhythm & Blues, to Swing and Jazz. Her greatest fans, though, were her family members. Playing for her nieces and nephews, particularly brought her joy.

While music was Teresa’s greatest passion, she loved her family above all else. She dearly missed her parents after their passing. She loved being part of a large family, especially as a member of her extended Thesing family with her many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Though her health limited her ability to travel for many years, she was always up to date on happenings with the Thesings and was an undeniable source of Thesing family trivia. Teresa also had a great affection for animals, especially her cat Muffins and her family corgis, Happy and Duggan. Teresa never met a corgi, either in person or online, she did not love. And she was fully committed to all her furry nieces and nephews, too!

But, lest we not forget her love of Notre Dame Football. She followed every game and would text renditions of the fight song and alma mater to family and friends before and after each match. We will surely be hearing her heavenly battle cry, “Go Irish”, as football season nears!

Teresa is survived by her step mother, Carol Bray of High Point; two sisters Marcella Thesing Hazard of Fort Mill, SC, Phyllis Thesing Riquelme (James) of Fort Mill, SC; two brothers Greg Thesing (Kathy) of Hopkinton, NH, Glenn Thesing (Kirstin) of Pittsboro, NC; six nieces & nephews: Erin Thesing (Elliott Wilkes) of London, England, Claire Thesing (Andrew Rodriguez) of Chicago IL, Jack Hazard of Charlotte, NC, Benjamin Thesing of Wash. DC, Mary Hazard (Zan Zhuang) of Los Angeles, CA, Holly Thesing of Pittsboro, NC; and a great niece, Maribel Rodriguez, whom Teresa especially adored.
