Teresa Ann Wilson Hartzoge
March 17, 1950 - September 25, 2025
It is with deep sadness, and profound gratitude for the life she lived, that we announce the death of Teresa Ann Wilson Hartzoge, 75, of Greensboro, North Carolina due to complications of congestive heart failure on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
Born March 17, 1950, Teresa Ann Wilson, she was the daughter of the late Clifton James Wilson and Margaret Leonard Icard. After graduating, Fred T. Foard High School in the summer of 1968, she went on to earn her nursing degree from Catawba Valley Community College and spent over 30 years working in the field, serving patients with love, faith, and kindness. In addition to her nursing career, Teresa went back to school in her retirement and earned her Associates of Theology Degree. She was an active member of her church, and was her happiest when she was finding ways to serve others.
She lived most of her life in rural Lincoln County, where she and Jim raised their daughter, built meaningful and successful careers as nurses, and enjoyed being active in their church. She moved to Greensboro in 2016 to follow her daughter, and be close to her grandchildren. Of all the hats she wore in her life, being Nana was her favorite. She loved spending time with the children, playing games, listening to their stories, and sharing her wisdom, and love of the Lord with them.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband James, as well as her brother, and her parents. She leaves behind her loving and devoted daughter, Dawn Michelle Hartman, her son-in-law Chris Hartman, and her precious grandchildren, Riley & Reagan. She also leaves her sisters, Libby Roper and Darlene Stines (Jerry) of Hickory , and her brothers, Berlin Wilson (Laura) of Charlotte, and Jerry Icard of Hickory; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Teresa’s daughter and son-in-law would like to publicly thank all of the caregivers at AuthoraCare Collective, for their loving and compassionate care during their mother’s last season of life.
A Memorial Service in her honor will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Gate City Baptist Church, 5250 Hilltop Road, Jamestown, North Carolina. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Memorials in Teresa’s honor may be made to AuthoraCare Collective, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC or Gate City Baptist Church.
