Takar Lay

Takar Lay, 80, of High Point, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2026, at High Point Medical Center.

Born December 21, 1946, in Mawchi (Lokalo), Burma, he was a son of the late Wal Doh and the late Tar Be Poe.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Saw Htoo Doh, daughter, Naw Esther; and grandson Moe Aye.

He is survived by his wife, Khin Yee; daughters, Naw Woo Zar (Khin Oo), Nay Say (Maung Yeh), Bway Htoo, Hsar K’Pru (Moses Po), and Leh Leh Khin; grandchildren, Zin Win Mar (Naing Htow), Zin Lin Way, Naw Eh Ku, Eh Sa Neh, Grace Po, Hsar Gaw Doh, Dawdee Po, Hsaung Aye, Nway Aye, and Hsar Poe Po; great grandchildren, Noelle Zin Htow, Pandora Zin Htow, and Anthony Liam Htow; and nephew, Hsar Proe.

Funeral Service will be 1:00PM Sunday, September 6, 2026, at High Point Seventh-Day Adventist Church with Pastor Lawrence Serban officiating.

Burial will follow in the Floral Garden Memorial Park cemetery.

The family will receive friends 12:00-1:00PM prior to the service at the church.
