Mr. John Steven Carter, III, 60, of Trinity, NC died Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.

Mr. Carter was born August 7, 1956, in Guilford County, he was the son of John Steven Carter Jr. and Elizabeth Galloway Carter. He was self-employed in construction and worked at Hillsville Hardware in Trinity, NC. He was a member of Springfield Baptist Church and  was preceded in death by his father and father-in-law, Donald Creasey.

Surviving is his wife, Debbie Creasey Carter of the home; daughter, Courtney Carter Rabon and husband Michael; son, John Steven Carter, IV and wife Ashley; mother, Elizabeth G. Brown and husband Bob; sister, Cathy Hartman and husband Charlie; two grandchildren, Jake and Morgan Rabon; mother-in-law, Maxie Creasey; brother-in-law, Don Creasey and wife Toni; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Also, his long-time friend and co-worker, Tim Kinley.

Steve will always be remembered for his passion to help others and his ability to bring laughter and smiles to all that he knew.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Springfield Baptist Church by the Rev. Bobby Loving.The family will receive friends after the service at the church.
