Stacey Laurell Addy, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on August 15, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and treasured memories.

Born on May 7, 1967, Stacey was a proud native of Freeport and the beloved daughter of the late Paul and Nona Worthy. She was raised in Freeport and attended Freeport High School, where she began building the memories and relationships that would remain part of her story throughout her life.

Stacey shared a beautiful and enduring love story with her husband, Douglas Addy. Their story began at neighbors living on the same block and later blossomed into young love as adults. The two were married on August 3, 1995, and recently celebrated 31 years of marriage. Through more than three decades together, Stacey and Douglas built a life and family filled with love, laughter, challenges overcome, and countless memories. To the world she was Stacey, but to Douglas, she was affectionately his “Boo”, a simple name that carried decades of love, companionship, and a life built together. Douglas remained faithfully by her side as her husband, partner, and longtime love.

Stacey was fiercely loyal, wonderfully stubborn, and deeply protective of people she loved. If Stacey loved you, you knew it--not only through her words, but through the way she stood by you, looked out for you, and remained in your corner. Her stubbornness was simply part of what made Stacey Stacey—strong-willed, determined, and unapologetically herself.

She also knew how to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Stacey was a lover of a good book, a good joke, and most certainly a good time. She appreciated laughter, enjoyed being surrounded by family and knew that some of life’s best moments were the ones spent simply enjoying the people you love. Her personality, her laughter, and memories of the good times shared with her will continue to bring smiles even through the sadness of her absence.

Above all, Stacey was devoted to her family. She leases to cherish her memory her loving husband, Douglas Addy; her daughter, Akami Habersham, and son-in-law, Alex Habersham; her son, Naquan Addy; her grandchildren, Lala Habersham and Zimme Habersham; mother-in-law Jannie “Nana” Addy; her brother, Lance Worthy; as well as a large and loving family of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who deeply miss her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Nona Worthy, in-law James “Big Daddy” Addy.

Stacey’s life cannot be measured simply by the years she lived, but by the family she loved, the laughter she shared, the memories she created, and the lives she touched. Those who knew and loved her will remember a woman who loved deeply, protected fiercely, laughed freely, and lived life as herself.

Though saying goodbye is difficult, her family will forever carry pieces of Stacey with them-in the stories they tell, the laughter they share, the memories they revisit, and the love they continue to give one another.

Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever his “Boo”. Forever our Stacey. Forever our Mom.
