Rillie Redell “Sonny” Driggers, Jr., 85, of Asheboro, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Hospice Home at High Point.
Born November 5, 1939, in Wilmington, he was a son of the late Rillie Redell Driggers, Sr. and the late Lila Belle McLeod Driggers. Sonny was a member of the US Army Reserves, a retired carpenter, and a member of Wallace First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Hardy Driggers of the home, daughters, Traci Greenwood and husband Jody of Greensboro, and Sherri Barnett and husband Brad of Sophia; sisters, Peggy Jean Driggers of Leland, and Jeannette Irene Burger of Texas; grandchildren, Bradley Barnett and wife Laurel, Julie Sarrelangue and husband Arturo, Emily Iannetta and husband Tony, and Matthew Greenwood; great-granddaughter, Hallie Kate Barnett; nieces, Cheryl Sloan, and Rhonda Burger; nephews, Glenn Sloan and wife Dawn, Ronald Burger and wife Gail, and Kenneth Burger and wife Tracy, and his special cat, Simon.
A celebration of life will be at a later date.
