Signe Frances Garry

Mrs. Signe Frances Mehr Garry, 83, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 29, 2026, surrounded by love at her home in Thomasville.

She was born October 30, 1943, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Thorvald and Signe Ulin Mehr. She was the youngest daughter of eleven children.

After moving from Brooklyn to Byram Township, New Jersey, Signe married and devoted her life to raising her three sons. She later completed her career as a manager at A&P Grocery Store in Andover, New Jersey. In retirement, she relocated to Thomasville, NC, where she cherished being close to her sons and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Garry; five brothers, Richard, George, Robert, John and Walter; and three sisters, Alice Wurzbach, Dorothy Dory, and Ruth Santoro.

She is survived by her beloved sons, James (April), Donald and Kenneth (Deborah) Maines; eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; sister, Petra Sinisgalli of Florida, and her brother, Charles (Peter Chase) of New York.

Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Wesley Memorial Methodist Church, with Rev. Dr. Ken Lyon and Rev. Clark Chilton officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service in the Asbury Room.
