Shirley Blackwell Gray

Shirley Blackwell Gray Archdale Shirley Blackwell Gray, 84, of Archdale, passed away Sunday, July 21st, 2019 at High Point Medical Center.

She is survived by her children, Connie Bales and husband David of Trinity, Cheri Gray of Archdale, Trey Gray and wife Renee of Archdale, and John Gray of Archdale; grandsons, Jeremy, Daniel, and Trevor.

In addition to her parents, John Homer Blackwell and Mabel Wright Blackwell, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edward Gray, Jr. in 2006 and her brother, John Homer Blackwell Jr. in 2008.

Mrs. Gray was a 1953 Allen Jay High School graduate. Being a long-time resident of the Archdale area, she enjoyed attending chamber events. She also liked spending time with her friends. She still met monthly with the ladies from High Point Bank where she was employed before leaving to work with her husband in the jewelry store in 1973. She was always ready to travel whether it be a long trip or a short drive. What she loved most was spending time with family, from birthday dinners to backyard games. As long as it involved the family, that was when she was happiest.

Services will be private and she will be laid to rest at Floral Garden Park.
