Shirazi Gerrard Hunter, 66, of High Point, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026, at High Point Medical Center.
His story began on December 6, 1959, when Shirazi Gerrard Hunter entered the world born to the late Mr. Milton Jerome Hunter and Mrs. Elsie Mae Hunter in Cleveland, Ohio. As the eldest of three siblings, he naturally took on a role of guidance and strength within his family.
On March 15, 2026, he departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, memories, and the impact he made on those who knew him.
He attended Alfred A. Benesch School in Cleveland, Ohio. He later continued his education at Ferndale Middle School and Central High School in High Point, NC. At the age of 17, Shirazi enlisted in the United States Marines, where he went to earn his high school diploma. He proudly served his country for seven years in the military.
Following his service in the military, he began his career at Dorothea Dix. He later worked at Albion Photo Studio as a Grip, where he continued to build his skills and experience.
Shirazi was committed to personal and professional growth, he earned a broadcasting certificate from Carolina School of Broadcasting in Charlotte, NC. He furthered his education at Forsyth Technical Community College, where he studied television production.
He had a true passion for voiceover work, which led him to establish his own company, Voicetracs, where he was able to express his creativity and talent.
Shirazi also had a deep love for poetry. His passion led him to publish a book titled “The Reason, Purpose, and Revolution” reflecting his creativity and thoughtful expression.
In addition to his many talents, Shirazi was deeply active in his church community. Prior to his illness, he attended Baldwin Chapel and High Point Seventh Day Adventist Church, both in High Point. He faithfully served as a head deacon at Baldwin Chapel Church and took great pride in his work and service to others.
As his health declined in 2023, his faith remained steadfast and unshaken. By his side were his loving wife and children, who stood with him faithfully, surrounding him with love and support until his final moments on this earth.
Shirazi met the love of his life, Moreine Hunter at her place of employment in Guyana. From this union, they were blessed with two children, Rashadah and Judah who brought great joy and meaning to his life.
Shirazi Hunter was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Moreine Hunter, children, Rashadah and Judah, his siblings, Mellody Hunter, Adonis Hunter, and Mellanie Hunter; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be 2:00PM Sunday, March 22, 2026, at High Point Seventh-Day Adventist Church; 279 Eastchester Dr, High Point, NC 27262; with Pastor Lawrence Serban officiating.
Following the service, the Repass will be in the church fellowship hall.
The family will receive friends 1:00-1:45PM prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be in Salisbury National Cemetery
