Sherrill Williams Elder, 80, of High Point, passed away Friday, April 12, 2019, at Pennybyrn at Maryfield.

Born July 17, 1938, in St. Petersburg, Florida, she was a daughter of the late Nathaniel Williams and the late Lyle Whitehurst Williams. Mrs. Elder was a fifty year resident of High Point, a homemaker, and a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, James Albert Elder of the home; son, Robert Elder and wife Debbie; daughter, Lauren Elder Monroe and husband John; grandchildren, Lauch Monroe, Chapman Monroe, Evie Monroe, Nathan Elder, and Alex Elder.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Williams.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Dr. Jeff Patterson officiating. Burial will be private in Floral Garden Park.

The family will receive friends following the service in the Asbury Room.
