Shelby Jean (Smith) Wood

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Shelby Jean Wood, walked into the arms of her Savior early in the morning of September 30, 2024.  Leaving her old cancer-ridden body behind, she is now free of pain and is finally Home. She is reunited with her children, three of whom she never got to meet, along with many friends and family. Preceding her in death was her daughter, Michelle Lynn Wood.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Alisa McDowell (Danny); grandsons, Eric Moran (Amanda), Aaron Moran, and Drew Glenn; and granddaughter, Katie Ray (Travis).

A memorial service will be held at Spoon’s Chapel Christian Church in Asheboro on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Isaac Fetterhoff officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.

We would also like to thank Asheboro Health and Rehab for the loving care that they gave her for the past few years.  She loved the staff, and they spoiled her to no end.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of Randolph County, who shepherded us through this journey of her final days.
