Sammy Elwood Tompkins

Sammy Elwood Tompkins, Sr., 63, of High Point, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023, at his home.

Born November 6, 1959, in Guilford County, he was a son to the Bernard Elwood Tompkins and the late Doris Mew Tompkins.  Sammy worked as a carpenter in construction.

He is survived by his wife, Sabrina Tompkins of the home; sons, Sammy Tompkins, Jr (Shelley) of Thomasville and Christopher Tompkins of Archdale; daughters, Chasity Cantelmo (Andrew) of Burlington, Doris Jean Tompkins of High Point and Emily Ann Tompkins of Archdale; brother, James Tompkins (Tammy) of Badin Lake; sister, Cynthia Tompkins of Badin Lake; and seven grandchildren.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by brothers, Byron Tompkins and Bob Tompkins.
