Sammy Lynn Leffew, 78, of Denton, North Carolina passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019 at the Hospice Home at High Point in High Point, North Carolina.
Sammy was born in Loudon, Tennessee to Willie Frank Leffew and Martha Marie (Goins) Leffew on October 1, 1940. He worked as a carpenter and furniture maker for multiple furniture companies in his career. He loved spending time with family. He also enjoyed pier fishing, deep sea fishing and woodworking.
Sammy is preceded in death by wife, Linda Leffew; parents Willie and Martha Leffew; brothers, J.W., Johnny and Junior Leffew; sisters, Viola Lindsay, Mary Bell Davis, and Barbara Payne; sons, Rodney and Jeffrey Leffew.
Sammy is survived by wife, Bertha Hughes Leffew; sons, Bobby Richardson and wife Tammy, Brent Richardson and wife Mallory; daughters, Jennifer Cameron and husband Jerry, Robin Thalasinos and husband Ernie, Julia Parrish and husband, Rodney, Toya Goss and husband Jimmy, Dawn Underwood and husband Rusty; sisters Novilla Hulin and Judy Hunt; grandchildren, Rodney Cameron, Brandon Thalasinos and wife Courtney, Amy Lee and husband Daniel, Ashley Thalasinos Auman and husband Easton, Addie Goss, Amanda Jones and husband Paul, Charles Underwood, and RJ Underwood; great-grandchildren, Cayden, Aria, and Zander Thalasinos, Dalton, Wyatt Grimm and Ava Lee, and Gavin and Willow Jones. Sammy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 in the chapel at Community Outreach of Archdale Trinity, 10607 N. Main Street, Archdale, North Carolina with Pastor Trevor Foster of High Rock Baptist church in Denton, North Carolina officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park, 1730 W. Rotary Drive, High Point, North Carolina. Family will receive friends Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from 12:00P.M. – 2:00P.M. in the chapel at Community Outreach of Archdale Trinity.
Pallbearers will be Easton Auman, Rodney Cameron, Brandon Thalasinos, Kelly Coggins, Jimmy Goss, Donald Thompson and honorary pallbearer Rodney Parrish.
