Ruth (Hayes) Vaden

Ruth Hayes Vaden, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Sunday October 22, 2023.

She was born May 19, 1932, in Alexander County, NC to Charlie H Hayes and Jennie C Hayes.  She was the 9th of 11 children.  She graduated from Robert B. Glenn High School.  Except for a few years of public work at Western Electric, Ruth was a homemaker.  Serving in the church, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School and other activities surrounding her faith community brought her great joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 10 siblings, and her husband Bob Vaden.

She is survived by her daughter Cindy Vaden Byrd (Steve) of Murrells Inlet, SC; her son Scott Hayes Vaden (Ferell) of Weems, VA; her grandchildren Zack Byrd (Ali) of Lafayette, IN; Annaliese Grace Vaden of Salem, VA; and great grandchildren Payton and Avery Byrd of Lafayette, IN.

For the last year she has been in the care of loving staff at the Inlet Oaks Assisted Living and Memory Care in Murrells Inlet, SC.

A celebration of her life will be held on November 3rd at 2:00pm in the prayer chapel at Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church 2817 Abbotts Creek Church Rd, High Point, NC 27265.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the church in memory of Ruth.

Wright Funerals-Cremations, High Point is in charge of arrangements.
