Ruth Inez Blackman Stevens, 89, of Sophia, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018 at her home.

Born July 19, 1928, in High Point, she was a daughter of the late Loudsey Blackman and the late Alice Virginia Dance Williams. Mrs. Stevens was an office administrator with Silver Craft Furniture and a longtime member of Glenola Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, John Henry Stevens, Jr. and wife Patsy of Trinity; daughters, Barbara Jarrett and husband Gregg of Trinity, and Anne Dust and husband David of California; grandchildren, Roger, Scott, Ashley, Jennifer, and Sarah; great-grandchildren, Heather, Hailee, Ashley, Conard, Hunter, Gage, Savannah, Lisa, and Sarah; and great-great grandchildren, Karter, and Bristol.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Stevens, Sr.; one brother; and six sisters.

Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, July 20, 2018, at Glenola Baptist Church with Dr. Joe Coltrane officiating. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
