Rufus Wilson Turney, Jr.

Rufus Wilson Turney, Jr., 74, of High Point, passed away Friday, August 12, 2022, at Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, SC.

Born November 5, 1947, in Pilot Mountain, he was a son of the late Rufus Ralph Turney and the late Irene Wilson Turney. Junior was a US Army veteran, an automotive salesman, and of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Judi Myers Turney of the home; son, Chad Turney and wife Olga of High Point; sisters, Linda Welch of High Point, Jackie Chastain of High Point, and Shirley Edwards of Angier; grandchildren, Chase Turney, Mackenzie Turney, and Alexander Turney; and canine companion, Roscoe.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 21, 2022, in the chapel of Wright Funerals-Cremations, High Point with military honors.

The family will receive friends following the service.
