Ronald (Ronnie) Linville Craven, 73, of Whitakers, NC, died suddenly November 9, 2016, at Nash County Hospital in Rocky Mount, NC.

Born August 10, 1943, in High Point, he was the son of Mary Frances Craven and the late Arnold Linville Craven.  He was an avid huntsman and enjoyed writing and playing music for the guitar.

In addition to his mother of Pennybyrn at Maryfield in High Point, he is survived by his son, Jeffrey Craven (Debbie) of Lexington; grandson, Michael Craven; brother, Gary Craven (Martha) of Thomasville; sisters, Linda Elliott (Ralph) of Seneca, SC, and Sylvia Howell of Winston-Salem; five nieces and two nephews; and close friends, Gloria and R. L. Woody of Rocky Mount.

In addition to his father, Ronnie was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, James Van Howell of Winston-Salem.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 14 at Spring Hill United Methodist Church in High Point with Rev. Chuck Garner officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service.
