Ronald William Heer, 80, of Lexington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at his home.
Born January 11, 1943, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was a son of the late Wilmer Heer and the late Frieda Hornig Heer. Ronnie was a US Army veteran and was a retired pharmaceutical rep for Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories with thirty-six years of service. He was a train and woodworking enthusiast and was a fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens. Ronnie was a longtime announcer for the Girls Athletic Association and attended Memorial Evangelical and Reformed Church.
He is survived by his wife of sixteen years, Martha McManus Heer of the home; son, Russell Heer and wife Beth of Newport; daughter, Julie Parde and fiancé Rick Eveson of Lexington; step sons, Gregg Grady and wife Amy and Rick Grady and wife Denise; step daughters, Shana Walker and husband Steve and Sarah Drewery and husband Steve; grandchildren, Brandon Gilchrist, Sierra Heer, Brittany Grady, Parker Grady, Chase Grady, Sara Bourque, Kaley Drewery, Madison Drewery, Dayln Grady, Alex Grady, Nicholas Grady, and Spencer Grady; great-grandchildren, Asher Gilchrist, Liam Gilchrist, Kinley Grady, and Tucker Grady; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine Walker Heer, brother, Robert Heer, and sister, Anita Kleinfelter.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Floral Garden Park with Rev. Zach Hall officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street. New York, NY 10016 or in honor of his dogs, Molly and Gracie to Davidson County Animal Shelter, 490 Glendale Rd., #5828 Lexington, NC 27292.
