James “Ron” Ronald Neely, Sr.

High Point

James “Ron” Ronald Neely, Sr., 70, of High Point, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2019, at his home.

Born April 9, 1949, in Charleston, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Robert Lee Neely and the late Virginia Peters Neely. Ron retired from the US Navy and received several decorations and medals for his service. He was a member of the Randolph County Honor Guard and a member of Conrad Memorial Baptist Church.

Ron is survived by his wife, Penny Spencer Neely of the home; sons, James Neely, Jr. and wife Zoe of High Point, and Christopher Neely and wife Donna of Charleston, South Carolina; daughter, Tonya Neely of High Point; brother, Bobby Neely of Charleston, West Virginia; sisters, Margaret Banton and husband Dale of Charleston, South Carolina, and Carolyn Canterberry and husband Bob of Sinks Grove, West Virginia, and five grandchildren.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, September 20, 2019, at Conrad Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Marcus Campbell officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Conrad Memorial Baptist Church, 1920 N. Centennial St., High Point NC 27265.
