Rodney Jonathan Hill, 63, of Kernersville North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at home.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, Everette Hill and Juanita Hill, and brothers Darrell Hill and Everette (Buck) Hill, Jr.  Rodney is survived by his sons, David Hill and Ian Hill, and daughter, Heather Hill.  Other survivors include a brother, Johnny Hill and his wife Debbie; a sister Anita Bowman and her husband Gray; 12 nieces and nephews; and many loving extended family members.

Rodney was a 1972 graduate of Andrews High School and a 1993 graduate of High Point University where he majored in Computer Information Systems.  He was employed for 30 years with R J Reynolds and, at the time of his death, was working for Remington Arms.  He was an active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

Rodney was a loving father, sibling, husband, neighbor, and friend to all.   Rodney loved spending time with family, neighbors, and friends. He especially enjoyed surf fishing on Oak Island “with the guys.”  He was always ready with a hug, laugh, smile, and a joke.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11 AM at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 1401 Heathcliff Rd, High Point, NC 27262.  The family will receive friends after the service in the church’s fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or Habitat for Humanity in Rodney’s name.
