Robert E. Sterenberg, 72, of High Point, NC, passed away June 1, 2018, after a brief battle with cancer. “Bob” Sterenberg was born on June 16, 1945, in Grand Rapids, MI, to the late Bartel and Marian Sterenberg. He is survived by his only daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Anthony DiFoggio, and his 3 grandchildren, Micah, Jaden, and Ella. Bob is also survived by his sister and best friend, Ruth Bouwkamp, and his brother, Dave (Gen) Sterenberg.

Bob graduated from Grand Rapids Central Christian High School and went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree in interior design from Kendall School of Design in Grand Rapids. His love of beautiful aesthetics and design was prevalent in the photography business he owned until retirement. A secret inventor, he could take apart and fix anything which landed him the title, “Mr. Fix It.” Other endearing titles included “Uncle Fun Guy” and “The Fun Dad”. But his lifelong passion was loving the special people in his life. His heart was as big as they come. His love was unconditional. His attitude humble. His generosity abundant. He fully embraced child-like fun but also a child-like faith in God.

Bob was often the initiator of fun get-togethers with family and friends. While we know Heaven is having the biggest party for him ever, he would be thrilled that we’re celebrating his life on his birthday, June 16th, in Michigan. A second celebration will take place at a later date in High Point, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family wants to honor his generous spirit by asking for donations to be made to Hospice Home of High Point, NC.
