Robert Moses Staples, 95, of Thomasville, NC., passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Kernersville Medical Center.
Born October 30, 1930, in East Stroudsburg, PA., he was the son of the late Moses U. Staples and the late Ruth Romain Timby Staples. Robert worked as a foreman in the composing room for Mack Printing formally Hughes Printing Company. He was a veteran in the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He was a loving father, grandfather, and a good man that loved his golf game.
He is survived by his daughter, Lea Dean Shick (Arthur) of Thomasville; four grandchildren, Allen Shick (Sunny), Stephanie Godwin (David), Evan Shick (Tonda), and John Dean; eight great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Dean of Henderson, New York.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Hineline Staples; son, William Dean; sister, Eleanor Everett and husband Russell; and his brother, Ernest Staples and wife Helen.
Private services will be held at a later date at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, North Carolina.
