Robert Vance Lunsford

Robert Vance Lunsford, 82, of High Point, formally of Waynesville, NC, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024, at his home.

Born June 29, 1941, in Waynesville, NC, he was a son to the late Lloyd Lunsford and the late Eunice Stewart Lunsford.  Robert worked at Dayco in Waynesville for thirty-six years, was a Deacon for over fifty years, played several different instruments and sang with several Gospel Music Quartets.  He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, and was a taxidermist for forty years. Robert also loved working in his vegetable garden every chance he got.

He is survived by his wife Marlene Bishop Lunsford of the home; sons, Ben Lunsford (Heather) of Jamestown and Andy Lunsford (Saundra) of Newport, TN; brother, Jim Lunsford of Waynesville; grandchildren, Caleb Lunsford of Greenville, NC and Jordan Lunsford of Jamestown; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special fishing buddy, Johnny Trantham.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Gate City Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Owens officiating.

The family will visit with friends following the service.
