Richard "Dick" Stewart Hartsock

Richard (Dick) Hartsock, 88, passed peacefully on Dec. 25, 2020 with his family by his side. He was born in Albany, Oregon to the late Perry Loyal and wife Kathryn Stewart Hartsock. He is survived by his wife Marilyn (Mari) of 64 years; his daughters Karen Murdock of Asheville, NC, Christine (Reggie) Beeson of Sophia, NC, and Linda (Jon) Banashek of Boulder, CO; four grandsons and one great granddaughter; and his sister Gretchen (Ferd) Schoch of CA.

Dick joined the Army where he served 8 years in the Army and the Reserve. He graduated from Lamar State University with his degree in Electrical Engineering. Dick was married on June 16, 1956 to Marilyn Elizabeth McMahon of Oak Park, Illinois. Dick was able to travel with his job, living in many parts of the country with his work for Alcoa, Inc., his employer of 41 years, from which he retired in Albemarle, NC as Vice President of their subsidiary; Yadkin, Inc.

Dick was an avid golfer, boater, and recreational pilot. He lived a long life, enjoying his time spent with many friends and family.
