Rhonda Faye Porter, 49, of Lexington, passed away at 9:00 PM, Monday, February 27, 2017, at Hospice Home at High Point.

She was born June 12,1967, in High Point, a daughter of Carolyn West and her husband Robert of Sophia and Clifford Freeman and his wife Jackie of Archdale. She married Terry Alan Porter on August 17,1991, and he survives of the home. Rhonda grew up in High Point and was loved by her friends and family. One of her favorite things to do was to go camping with family and friends at Deep Creek State Park in Bryson City.

She touched many lives and had a big heart and gentle spirit. Her passing leaves a deeply saddened place in our hearts, but we know she is now in the arms of Christ and all her pain and suffering is gone.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by two sons, Travis Porter of Chapel Hill, and Kevin Porter of Farmingville, New York; three sisters, Melecia Wallace of Archdale; Sherry(Alan) Koontz of Thomasville; and Cynthia (Rodney) Pickard of Graham; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Hill and Andrew Freeman and Edna and Alford Cook.

A celebration of life will be held at 7:00 PM Saturday, March 11, 2017, at the home of her sister, Sherry Koontz, 173 Paul Pope Rd., Thomasville. Anyone who would like to attend is welcome to come to share memories of Rhonda.
