Rheumell Jones Prangley

Rheumell Jones Prangley, 89, of High Point, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at Randolph Hospice House.

Born February 25, 1931, in Randolph County, she was a daughter of the late Paul McCoy Jones and the late Stella Burge Jones. Rheumell was a 1949 graduate of High Point Central High School, worked twenty-seven years with H.E. Parker Furniture and retired from H. Thomas Keller and Associates with twenty-eight years of service. She was very active in the High Point Women’s Bowling Association since its inception and served as secretary for over twenty years. She loved playing bridge, eating and fellowshipping at Biscuitville and Carolina’s Diner with her many friends. Rheumell was a very independent lady, and it took a village to watch over her in High Point. She was a passionate writer and was published many times on the opinion page at the High Point Enterprise. Rheumell was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Rheumell is survived by her daughter, Susan Elizabeth Prangley Kimel and husband Britt of Asheboro; and granddaughter, Meghan Elizabeth Kimel Joyner and husband Jason of Wendell; and great-granddaughter, Emerson Kate Joyner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas James Prangley.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:30 AM Monday, November 2, 2020, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 11:30 AM prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church or Hospice of Randolph County.
