Robert “Red” Eugene Smith, 88, of Jamestown, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Pennybyrn at Maryfield.

Born April 19, 1929, in Guilford County, he was a son of the late George Alvin Smith and the late Geneva Powell Smith. Mr. Smith was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Jamestown United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Wood Smith of the home; sons, Tim Smith and wife Cheryl, and Todd Smith and wife Nina all of Jamestown; five granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
