Randall Robert Coleman, 70, of Thomasville, formerly of Rock Island IL, passed away June 18, 2018, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Randy was born on January 11, 1948, in Rock Island, Illinois. He attended Moline high school and joined the U.S. Navy in 1967. Randy spent four years serving his country and is a Vietnam Veteran. He continued his service to his country as a Quality assurance inspector at Rock Island Arsenal, and then at Red River Army Depot. He finished his career as Chief Security Officer at Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant. After forty years of distinguished government service, he retired with Honors and the Commanders Award for Civilian Service.

Randy was a devout Christian who loved the Lord and his family above all else. He attended Park Place Baptist Church in Thomasville where he was a member of the church finance committee and assisted in other duties. Randy was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. A fan of NASCAR, a diehard fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears who loved to cook (and eat).

He will be sadly missed by his wife Deborah Anderson Coleman; children, Chris (Anita) Coggin, Christopher (Eva) Coleman, Heather (Chad) Weavil, Patrick (Marie) Coggin, Andrew Coleman and Chad Coleman; sisters and their spouses, Linda (Tony) Fletcher, Cindy (Gary) Mueller, Kim (Gary) Fox, Bobbi Shock; and sister-in-law, Sharon (Ivan) Ericson. Randy will also be forever remembered by his thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews, extended family; and his dearest friend, Jay Batson.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Vera Coleman.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM Thursday, June 21, 2018, at Park Place Baptist Church, 201 Kern St. Thomasville, NC. 27360 with Pastor Tom Campbell officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 4:45 PM prior to the service.
