Pollyanna Gordon Stewart

Pollyanna Gordon Stewart passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Westchester Manor.  Polly, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt was 98 years old.

Polly was born on July 19, 1925 in Pinnacle, NC to the late Raleigh Estus and Ora Nunn Gordon.  She lived in Winston Salem for 65 years before moving to High Point.

In addition to her parents, Polly was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Stewart; her son, Mike Stewart; brothers, Herman Gordon and Thomas Gordan; and sisters, Betty Lou Perkins and Virginia Gordon.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law Marilyn Stewart; granddaughter Morgan Rogers and her husband, Michael; great grandchildren, Drew, Chase, and Hayden; her sister-in-law, Jean Gordon and many nieces and nephews.

Polly graduated from Pinnacle High School and Appalachian State Teachers College with a degree in home economics.  She taught at Salem College in Winston Salem.  Polly and Lee owned/operated Stewart Tours together for 26 years and traveled the world, enjoying the friendship of those that traveled with them. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem.

A graveside funeral will be held at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston Salem, on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 11:00 AM.
