Phyllis Mace Ray, 95, of Jamestown, NC, formerly of Charleston, WV went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 20, 2019 with wonderful family and caregivers at her side. Phyllis was born on June 6,1923 to Cumi Reynolds Mace and Spicer Patrick Mace of Charleston. She attended Stonewall Jackson High School. Phyllis married Okey Edward Ray in 1944 who proceeded her in death in 1986.

Phyllis was a devoted mother and caregiver to her family. She also aided her husband in his heating and air conditioning business, Air Control, Inc. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Janice and Redith and her four brothers, Lovell, Paul, James, and Bob.

Those of her immediate family who cherished her include her two sons and their wives, Paul Edward (Myra) Ray of Jamestown, NC, Donald Dean (Linda) Ray of Charleston, and her daughter Deborah Ray and her husband (Randal) White of Greenville, NC. Grandchildren: Jamie (Brenda) Ray, Kristen (Rob) Carter, Nathan (Annie Chu) White, Harrison White, and the late Alex White.  Four great-grandchildren: Nixon, Beleu, and Knolls Carter, Xander White and her best friend Myrtle Henshaw of Charleston.

Burial will be at Floral Hills Gardens of Memories in Sissonville, WV. A Celebration of Life will be held in Jamestown, NC at a later date. Guil-Rand Funeral Services of Archdale, NC will handle the professional services.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.
