Peanut Kennedy

Ruth Ann “Peanut” Kennedy, 69, of Sophia, passed away Monday, December 6, 2021, at Randolph County Hospice.

Born December 10, 1951, in Guilford County, she was a daughter of the late Dolphus Kennedy and the late Kathleen Smoot Kennedy. Peanut worked for twenty years at Amos Hosiery and retired from Baker Furniture with eleven years of service.

She is survived by her nieces, Dawn Holder of Sophia, Lynn Holder of Lexington, and Christy Oxendine of Trinity; nephews, Junior Redman, and Eddie Redman both of Thomasville; great-nephews, Nathan Oxendine, and Jase Oxendine; and her special life-long friends, Char Champion, and Peggy Hooper.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Linda Redman, and Wanda Holder.

Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 PM Saturday, December 11, 2021, in Floral Garden Park with Rev. Brooks Johnson officiating.
