Patty Sue (Martin) Ortiz

Patty M. Ortiz, loving wife and mother, age 80, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.

Patty loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and her dog Gunner. She never met a stranger, enjoyed Southern Gospel music and working in her yard with numerous flowers and watching the birds. She was a faithful member of Gate City Baptist Church and loved her church family.

Patty was preceded in death by parents, Furney and Effie Martin, as well as five sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her husband, Bart Ortiz; children, Shirley Rush and Gary Harvell (Karen); grandchildren, Jason Rush (Christina), Kendall Moser (Travis), Megan Snow (Andrew), and Nick Harvell (Taylor). Also surviving are great-granddaughters, Addison and Lucy, and numerous nieces and nephews. Stepchildren Bart Ortiz, Jr. (Carin), Jason Ortiz (Kristie), Josh Ortiz, Nichole Spangler; grandchildren John, Catherine, Adriana, Olivia; James, Ava and mother Kristie.

A service to celebrate Patty’s life will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 7:00 PM at Gate City Baptist Church, Jamestown, NC. Visitation with the family will begin one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Gate City Baptist Church, 5250 Hilltop Rd.  Jamestown, NC  27282.
