Patsy Barker Younts, 69, went to her eternal home on July 14, 2024, at Hinkle Hospice House after a long battle with Ovarian Cancer. Patsy stayed faithful and strong during her battle with lots of prayers, encouragement and support from her family, church and special friends. Patsy wanted to let everyone know she truly appreciated their support.
She wanted to say a special thank you to her cousin Carolyn who understood her battle and was with her throughout her treatment with encouragement and support. Patsy also wanted to thank Phil and Cheryl for their help to her and Aaron through both their illnesses.
Patsy was born July 16, 1954, to the late Ray Von and Margaret Barker.
She was married to Aaron Younts on May 7, 1988, who also preceded her in death earlier this year.
Patsy is survived by her fur-babies Max and Mattie, many cousins and friends.
Patsy was a dedicated employee of Hanes Brands (Sara Lee) with 45 years of service. She retired in 2017 to care for her mother. Patsy enjoyed having lunch with her special friends the Blue Moon Girls (Janice and Karen), the retired Lunch Bunch Group (too many to list) and many other friends. After retirement, Patsy wanted to do more for others but due to her illness and Covid she wasn't able do as she had hoped.
Patsy was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and the "Doris Lopp Sunday School Class" which she dearly loved. Her Sunday School Class provided her with prayer, support and many meals which were appreciated more than they could ever know. Her faith was strong, and she just wanted to be kind to others. Patsy stressed others to enjoy and savor every moment of life because it is short.
There will be a joint memorial service at a later date for both Patsy and Aaron at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hinkle Hospice House for their care and compassion.
