Patricia “Pat” Paris Simmons, 82, of Trinity, passed away on May 14, 2020 at Wake Forest Medical Center of High Point surrounded by family.
Pat was born in Guilford County to Ethel and CN “Jack” Paris on November 16, 1937. She resided in Florida for several years before returning to High Point in 1967. She attended High Point City Schools, Guilford Technical Community College and UNC-Chapel Hill. She worked as a city clerk for the City of High Point for over 30 years. She served as Vice President of the North Carolina Association of Municipal Clerks and described that experience as one of the most rewarding in her life. She enjoyed arts, crafts, westerns and going fishing every time she had the opportunity. She loved her boys and was a dedicated caregiver to her parents and her special uncle, Bill. Pat dearly loved her special Yorkie companion, Lit’l Bit.
Pat is preceded in death by her mother Ethel Carmichael Paris, her father CN “Jack” Paris, and her brother Charles Thomas Paris.
Pat is survived by her son Russell “Rusty” Wayne Hill, her grandson Dustin Hill (Jennifer), her great grandchildren Hunter Ray Hedgecock and Riley Jacob Shafer, special cousins Mona Read, Gary Carmichael, Ron Carmichael, and Roger Carmichael, she also leaves behind many other cousins.
Pat wished for her remains to be donated to Wake Forest School of Medicine for research.
A Memorial will be planned at a later date.
