Noah Delbert Lauten, Jr., born February 7, 1944, entered into eternal rest on December 31, 2025, at Hospice of Piedmont. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 60 years, Becky; two sons, Darren (Jessica) and Daniel; and his beloved grandchildren, Alex (Jenna), Katie, Brenna, and Nate, along with one great-granddaughter, Addilyn. He is also survived by his brother, Mike (Sunni).
Delbert graduated from Glenn High School in 1962 and later earned his degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. A charter member of Union Cross Baptist Church, he faithfully served as a Deacon—later honored as Deacon Emeritus—Sunday School teacher, choir member, and youth leader. His work with the church’s youth group, sharing God’s love through music and testimony, was a source of great joy for him and Becky.
From 1966 to 1970, Delbert proudly served in the United States Air Force, spending time in the Philippines and Washington, D.C. He dedicated 33 years to the Forsyth County Tax Office and later worked as a Funeral Director at Hayworth Miller for six years before retiring.
Delbert was a loving husband, father, brother, and “Poppy.” His greatest treasures were his family—his wife, sons, and grandchildren—whom he cherished deeply. He lived a life rooted in faith, showing kindness and love to everyone he met. In retirement, he and Becky enjoyed traveling, hosting family gatherings, and celebrating Christmas together. Family was always at the heart of his life.
Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of love and faith will live on in the memories shared by those who knew him.
A celebration of Delbert’s life will be held at Union Cross Baptist Church on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Union Cross Baptist Church.
