Nellie Jenkins Gilbert

Mrs. Nellie Jenkins Gilbert, 90, formerly of Spindale, NC passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Hospice at High Point.

A native of Rutherford County, she was a former employee of Rutherford Hospital, a member of Spindale Church of the Brethren and a daughter of the late Grady and Nellie Elmore Jenkins.

Nellie is survived by her daughter, Vicki Gilbert Pope of Archdale, NC; two sisters, Sandra Briscoe, and Mary Lou King; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; as well and a number of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Gilbert and her brother Earl Jenkins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Spindale Church of the Brethren 128 Sterling Street, Spindale, NC 28160 with Rev. Russell Payne officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Family Life Center. Concluding services will be held at Eternal Hills Memorial Park 1565 Oakland Road, Forest City, NC 28043.
