Neal Joy Perkins, Oak Ridge, NC

Neal Joy Perkins, 77, of North River Road, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Hospice Home at High Point. Born February 4, 1939 in Springwater, NY, he was the son of the late Burton Perkins and the late Mary Holmes Perkins.

Mr. Perkins was a US Marine Veteran, a business owner for 40 plus years, and recently retired. He loved all sports, especially golf and his Syracuse Orangemen, and Nascar. He was quick to laugh, always made others feel welcome, and liked to kick back with a "light" Jack Daniels. Poppie’s wit and charm will be missed by many.

He is survived by his daughters Elizabeth Perkins-Stone of Providence, RI and Stephanie Perkins-Dabrowski of Palm Harbor, FL; son-in-law Michael Dabrowski; stepson Ryan McIntosh and wife Millicent; his companion of 15 years, Debra McIntosh of Oak Ridge; brothers Larry Perkins and Linda of Rochester, NY and Kenneth Perkins and wife Robin of Gorham, NY; sister Lorna Eddy and husband Larry of Wayland, NY; and grandsons, Cooper Stone of Chesterfield, MA and Landon McIntosh.
