Nannie Sue James DeLappe, 92, of High Point, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at her home.

Born March 20, 1925, in Stokes County, she was a daughter of Willie and Fannie James. Nan retired from Western Electric in 1989 after twenty years of service and was later employed at Westchester Country Day School.  On December 20, 1950, she married Thomas DeLappe who preceded her in death in 2015. For many years she was a faithful member of Brentwood Baptist Church, the Philathea Sunday School Class and the Young at Heart Senior Adults. She later attended Abbott's Creek Missionary Baptist Church, and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening and spending time with her family. Nan was a loving wife, devoted mother and proud grandmother. She will be missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Ricky DeLappe and wife Pam of High Point; granddaughter, Ashley Beavers and husband Wade of Wake Forest; grandson, Kyle DeLappe and wife Blair of Columbia, SC; three sisters, Mabel Cawley of Lexington, Emma Hardin of Greensboro and Daisy James of High Point.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers, George, Matt, Charlie, Henry, Walter, Rufus and Bowlie James; and two sisters, Sara Reynolds and Mary Ferguson.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 20, 2017, at Floral Garden Memorial Park with Rev. Mark Hollar officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM Saturday at Wright Cremation & Funeral Service.
