Nancy Lynn (Newsome) Crater

Nancy Lynn Newsome Crater (NANNY), 72, of Kernersville, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021, at her home.

Born June 18, 1948, in Forsyth County, she was the daughter of the late J. Holt Newsome and the late Geneva Alley Newsome.  Nancy was a Registered Nurse in the medical field.  She received her Master’s Degree in nursing from Winston Salem State University.  In addition to her accomplishments in nursing, her greatest joy was caring for her family, friends, and others. Ms. Crater was a member of Crews United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son, Nicholas (Nick) Alexander of North Myrtle Beach, SC; brothers, Ron Newsome of Clemmons and Stephen Newsome of Kernersville; sisters, Annette Newsome Johnston (George) of Birmingham, AL. and Janet Newsome Kutcher (George) of Charlotte; grandchildren Nicholas Alexander II and Ashley Nicole Alexander; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
