Nancy Snider Herndon, 95, of High Point, entered her heavenly home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at High Point Medical Center.
Born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1930, in Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Gurney Snider and Jessie Morris Snider. Nancy served for many years as the regional sales manager for Sarah Coventry Jewelry and was a long-time, faithful member of First Baptist Church of High Point.
Her love for the Lord and her church family was evident in her decades of service. She sang in the choir for 67 years, taught Sunday School for 50 years, directed the Children’s Sunday School Division, and served as a deacon. A gifted soloist, she shared her voice in worship, in community ensembles, and at countless memorial services throughout her life.
Nancy’s servant heart extended well beyond the church. She volunteered as a hospital volunteer and chaplain assistant, participated in Mobile Meals, served on the Executive Board of the Christian Women’s Club, and volunteered with the Red Cross Bloodmobile.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Williard and husband Bob of Indianapolis, IN; her sons, Dr. Don Brock and wife Mary of Irmo, SC, and Elliott Brock and wife Cynthia of Trinity, NC. Also, her brothers, Sam Snider and wife Judy, and Phillip Snider and wife Mary. Nancy was abundantly blessed with eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren with one on the way, and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Mack Brock, Robert Westmoreland, and Clarence Herndon; her brother, Gurney Snider; and her sisters, Isabell Tucker and Peggy Hoffman.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 14, 2025, in the High Point Chapel of Wright Funerals-Cremations, with Rev. Bob Williard and Dr. Don Brock officiating. A private family burial will take place on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM in Floral Garden Park.
The family is forever grateful to the wonderful nurses and staff at Westchester Manor, who cared for their mother with such love, dignity, and skill during the last year of her life.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
