Nancy Sue Cairns

Nancy Sue Birdsall Cairns, 90, of High Point, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Hospice Home at High Point.

Born November 7, 1932, in Windham, New York, she was a daughter to the late Howell Birdsall and the late Ellanor Champlin Birdsall.  Nancy was a school teacher, a member of Forest Hills Presbyterian Church, and the Mobile Meals Committee for newcomers. Her church family was so important to Nancy and she loved them dearly.

She is survived by daughters, Kathleen MacArthur, Suzanne Pavlos, Nancy Ann Donahue, Joanne Maxey and a son, Mathew Cairns, step-sons, Michael Cairns and Roger Cairns; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Cairns; step daughter, Teresa Hauser;  and sister, Betty Hood.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Forest Hills Presbyterian Church with visitation following the service.
