Mildred “Millie” Morris Thomas
High Point
CHANGE OF SERVICE LOCATION
Our Mother, who we adore, loved us unconditionally. She demonstrated the meaning of love, shared the comfort of hugs, and the sweetness of kisses. She taught by example, guided, and nourished. She encouraged independence, curiosity, and creativity. She was a true Southern Belle with a soft-mannered exterior and a core of steel.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents, O.C. and Etta Hayworth Morris; brothers, Charles and Ted Morris; and sister Hazel Samet. She was also preceded in death by our father, Jay M. Thomas.
We are her daughters, Elaine T. Tipton (Steve), Kim T. Stemple (Jamie), and Beth Thomas (Jeff). She cherished her five grandchildren, Amanda, Lesley, Matthew, Patrick, and Logan, as well as her three great-granddaughters, Nola, Kalyn, and Charlotte and relished their visits.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Hilliard Memorial Baptist Church, Westchester Drive.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service at the Church.
Thank you Roxanne, Cathy, and Leslie for your special care.
To Mom’s family, friends, and our friends, please know you were a very special part of her life.
We miss Mom beyond measure, but we’ll strive to carry on her passion for living and her care for others.
Millie Thomas was an ordinarily extraordinary woman.
