Michael "Mike" Woosley Waggoner

Michael "Mike" Woosley Waggoner, 80, of Jamestown, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025, at the Hospice Home at High Point.

He was born December 24, 1944, in Winston Salem, to the late Marcus Plummer Waggoner, Sr., and to the late Geraldine Anita Swain Waggoner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Marcus P. Waggoner, Jr. and brother-in-law, James "Jim" Pierce.

Left to cherish his memory; his beloved wife, Barbara Lynn Howard Waggoner; son, Christopher Howard Waggoner and wife Jennifer of Greensboro; daughter, Paige Michael Waggoner Welch and husband James of High Point; grandchildren, Luke Waggoner, Elliot Waggoner, and Camden Welch; his sister, Vivian "Vickie" Waggoner Pierce; along with mother-in-law, Hazel M. Howard, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mike was a lifelong learner and educator.  The love of family and time spent together were most important to him.  Mike had a quiet nature, quick wit, and giving heart.  His three grandsons were the light of his life.

The family will have a private inurnment service in the Jamestown United Methodist Church columbarium.

A gathering of friends and family will be from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM Friday, April 11, 2025, in the Jamestown United Methodist Church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to JUMC’s Music Fund or Feeding Lisa’s Kids (checks may be made to Wesley Memorial Methodist Church; 1225 Chestnut Drive, High Point, NC 27262, memo line "Feeding Lisa’s Kids").
