Dr. Michael Pierce, 75, of High Point, left this eternal earth on January 31, 2018, at High Point Regional Hospital following complications from the flu.

He was born in High Point to the late Doris Bowers Pierce and the late Norman Edward Pierce.  He spent most of his life serving the education system.  A graduate of High Point College, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in 1965, and a graduate of University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Master of Education in 1978, and a Doctor of Education in 1987.  He is the author of History of High Point Public Schools: 1897-1993.

Mike was a gentle person with a loving heart.  He had the ability to positively affect everyone around him and will be missed by many.  He was laid to rest with a private memorial service with his family.
