Michael Charles Kivett died peacefully on January 20, 2023, at his home in Trinity, NC surrounded by family.

Michael was born in Star, NC on September 5, 1949, to Ramona and William Kivett. Michael graduated from East Montgomery High School in 1968. Michael enlisted in the National Guard in 1969 and dutifully served his country for 6 years. After his military service, Michael worked as a color chemist in a hosiery mill and a research and development specialist at Legacy Paddle Sports before retiring in 2012. Michael will be remembered as a tremendously caring father and grandfather, always willing to give of his time and energy to his loved ones.

Michael is survived by his wife of 49 years, Melody Kivett, his children Michael (Mickey) Kivett and wife Carey, Melinda Johnson, Morgan White and husband Joel, Robert Sweeting, and Jessica Pinder and husband Kevin, his grandchildren Joshua Lee, Robert Reynolds, Johnathan Lee, Nicholas Lee, Alyssa Lee, Kara Pinder, Anderson Sweeting, Oliver White, and Avery White, 11 great-grandchildren, and mother Ramona Kivett. Michael is preceded in death by his father William, his brother Barry Kivett, and grandson Kale Pinder.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Rich Fork Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Bowers officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Michael’s honor to the Community Clinic of High Point, where his wife, Melody, has helped to provide health care and medications for the uninsured and low-income residents of the greater High Point area for the past 27 years. www.cchpnc.com/donate.
