Michael Laverne Branning, 78, of High Point, passed away Monday, May 19, 2025, at the Hospice Home of High Point.
Born December 17, 1946, in Guilford County, he was a son of the late Ercell Laverne Branning and the late Kathleen Bond Branning Woody.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Phillip Craig Branning, and Steve Woody; his sister, Rhonda Sue Hutchens and his stepfather, John Woody.
Michael served in the United States Marine Corps, was a fabric cutter for Haworth Inc. and was a member of Providence Wesleyan Church.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Louise Garner Branning of 29 years; son, Roger Branning and wife Alesia of Thomasville; stepsons, Robbie Sikes and wife Paula of Trinity and Mark Donald Burney of Clemmons; grandchildren, Leah Faith Branning and Chet Reese Sikes; brothers, Earl Woody and Jeff Woody; sister, Peggy Stone and husband Marty of Sophia; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be 10:00AM Friday, May 23, 2025, in the Wright Funerals-Cremations, High Point Chapel with the Reverend Harold Bumby officiating.
Burial will follow in the Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 5:00-6:30PM Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the funeral home.
