Maxine Scarbrough Reid, 89, of Archdale, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Hospice Home at High Point.

Born June 10, 1928, in Guilford County, she was a daughter of the late Curtis L. Scarbrough and the late Willie Lou Hoosier Scarbrough. Mrs. Reid was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Beeker of Gastonia, and Sheila Philemon and husband Randy of Trinity, grandchildren, Suzanne Miller, Jennifer Trauberman, Jason Philemon, and Kelly Atkins; three great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Slick” Reid; brothers, Leon Scarbrough, and Jack Scarbrough; and sister, Evelyn Leach.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 7, 2018, in Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. C.W. Moss officiating.
