Matthew Lee Dunn, 88, of High Point, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Westchester Manor.
Born April 1, 1936, in Johnson County, he was the son of the late Matthew Martin Dunn and the late Bertie Lee Stanley Dunn. Matthew worked and had fond memories from Henredon Furniture where he was a perfectionist with his upholstery. He also was a member of Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church where he held many positions, Sunday School Teacher, Usher, Baptist Men Ministry, and volunteered with local and foreign missions. Matthew was a family man, he cherished every moment with them, like driving to the mountains and having picnics.
From growing up on a farm with no electricity he loved watching the moon at night, that gave him light in the darkness. When he entered Westchester Manor, he was honored to lead the devotions and share the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ with the many residents.
He is survived by his wife Norma Frazier Dunn; daughters, Angie Dunn Russell (Tim) of Winston Salem and Aimee Dunn Troutman (Dale) of Leland; sister, Elgie Norris; grandchildren, Josh Russell, Kaitlin Troutman Sutton and Katherine Troutman Jeffers; great grandchildren Harper Sutton and Brooks Sutton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
