Mary Jo (Young) Hamilton

Mary Jo Young Hamilton, 86, of High Point, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021. Born December 12, 1934, in Yancey County, She was a daughter of Horace Drayton Young and Pearl Ann Proffitt. Mrs. Hamilton was an active, long-time member of First United MethodistChurch in High Point.

Mrs. Hamilton is survived by her son, Warren Edward Hamilton, Jr. and wife Susan of Greenville, SC, daughters Deborah Gebbie and husband David of Asheville, and Cheryl Hudsonand husband Bruce of Mt. Gilead, brother Milton Young and wife Margaret of Asheville; grandchildren Matthew Gebbie and wife Allison, Nathan Hudson and wife Tracy, Clay Hudson, Jessica Hamilton, Sarah Hamilton, and Heather Manly and husband Chance; great-grandchildren, Charlotte Gebbie, Petra Hudson, Brooke Hamilton, Liam Manly and Lynx Manly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Edward Hamilton, Sr., and sister, Laura Blankenship.

A private service for the family will be held at First United Methodist Church on January 31,2021 at 1:00 pm. The service will be LiveStreamed and can be viewed at: www.fumc-high point.org, via YouTube or Facebook Live.
